ATOM gets up, running and ready for the future.

Australian Terminal Operations Management (ATOM)

Established in 2015, ATOM specialises in managing all aspects of terminal activities for oil and gas companies. As a new business, with its HQ in Melbourne and 17 bulk fuel terminals nationwide, ATOM turned to Denver for a complete network, fleet and managed services solution for their organisation and nationwide workforce.

The Challenge

ATOM was an entirely new entity, so our team was starting from scratch, but we had clear financial and technological parameters to work within. The goal was to get ATOM up, running and ready for the future with a lean, fit-for-purpose solution.

  • Intricate configurations across the network and device fleet.
  • Complex integrations with oil and gas companies.
  • Coordinating a host of third party suppliers and vendors.

The Solution

Working closely with Rhys Long, ATOM’s IT Manager, and adopting a ‘cloud first’ mentality, our team took the lead on designing, implementing and then supporting ATOM’s new corporate-wide area network and fleet solution.

  • Solution design, development and implementation.
  • Policies, processes, architecture, hardware and software.
  • Standardised fleet and consolidated vendors, for ease of support.
  • Ongoing help desk support (business hours and out-of-hours).
The Denver team’s flexibility, responsiveness and proactive attitude, combined with their knowledge, mean we view Denver very much as a trusted adviser. It’s always a pleasure dealing with the people at Denver. I know I can pick up the phone and get action, without the delays and red tape that often impair managed services providers. They’re easy to work with and add great value on a daily basis.

The Outcome

At a critical time for the nascent business, we developed and deployed an ultra-lean network, hardware, software and fleet management solution for ATOM – on time, on budget – connecting ATOM’s nationwide workforce and enabling them to hit the ground running.

With the ATOM team equipped for the future and off to a flying start, we then switched seamlessly into a managed services and project management role, operating as a natural extension of ATOM’s team to support the organisation’s growth and evolving IT requirements.
